The first Latvian translations of the Bible

One of the first attempts at translating the Bible into Latvian: translation of Matthew by the Lutheran minister Jānis Reiters ca. 1675, published only as a sample. Reiters was not trusted with the full translation. The first full translation of the Bible was published in 1694.
